5th Annual Caregiver Recognition Celebration, 11/10/19

During National Family Caregivers month, we are so grateful to been able to honor caregivers in our churches and communities. Together, as one community, we recognize their tireless efforts to help our loved ones in their time of need. Each and every day is a blessing to have caregivers in our lives.

The Alameda County Care Alliance is excited about our upcoming 5th Annual Caregiver Recognition Celebration & Health Expo!

This special afternoon event is a time for caregivers to be recognized for their extraordinary efforts to help loved ones and persons needing care. It is also an event where our community can come together and learn about local organizations and resources that can help caregivers and persons needing advanced illness care.

Sunday, November 10th
2:00pm – 6:00pm

Beth Eden Baptist Church
1183 10th Street, Oakland

  • 2-4pm – Free Supper

  • 2-4pm – Health Expo

  • 4-6pm – Special Service with Keynote Speaker Bishop Gregory Payton, and featuring the One Voice Mass Choir

This Caregiver Recognition Celebration also marks a special time for the Alameda County Care Alliance Collaborative (ACCAC) churches as we continue to partner together to lift up our caregivers.  Through the Advanced Illness Care Program™, we are happy to unveil our latest work: the Caregiver Workbook.  This workbook provides tools and guides to help support caregivers as they help those in need. Please read more about this workbook in the Celebration program and at our ACCAC tables during the event.

Over the last five years, the Alameda County Care Alliance Collaborative and the Advanced Illness Care Program™  has helped over 11,000 persons needing care and caregivers from our congregations and communities, enrolling and assisting over 1,100 individuals. In partnership with health systems and community-based, advocacy and academic organizations, we have expanded the program to 17 churches in Alameda County and Contra Costa County, which continues to grow. If you are a person needing advance illness care or are a caregiver that needs assistance, the ACCAC is here to help.

We hope you can attend this important celebration. As always, please share your thoughts with us and the community during the Celebration and online by using #ACCACHonorsCaregivers. We look forward to honoring caregivers at the event but to also empower them everyday, through the Advanced Illness Care Program™.
